The Registrar/Trainer is responsible for processing new and renewal applications for registered Family Child Care (FDC) and School-Age Child Care (SACC) programs.
This Specialist is additionally responsible for conducting required monitoring inspections of assigned registered programs and investigating complaints regarding registered programs.
Principle Accountabilities
1.
Process new and renewal applications for FDC and (SACC) programs to ensure compliance with NYS OCFS regulations.
2.
Provide technical assistance for FDC and SACC programs and applicants.
3.
Conduct safety inspections of FDC and SACC programs prior to registration.
4.
Conduct monitoring inspections of 100% of assigned registered FDC and SACC programs annually to ensure compliance with NYS OCFS regulations.
5.
Conduct complaint investigations with guidance from the Executive Director, NYS OCFS Syracuse Regional Office, and/or local Department of Social Services.
6.
Develop and provide training to child care programs and providers to improve the quality of child care services and provide follow up technical assistance.
7.
Respond to requests from parents about the complaint and inspection history of FDC and SACC programs.
8.
Report suspicions of child abuse and maltreatment as mandated by the NYS OCFS.
9.
Maintain monthly and quarterly program statistical data utilizing the Empire State Child Care Match and CCFS databases.
10.
Coordinate the distribution of safety items for enrolled providers.
11.
Attend regional and statewide meetings and trainings as requested by the Executive Director and the NYS OCFS Regional Manager.
12.
Review identified files in preparation for quarterly record audits from SRO.
13.
Assist with all other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, three years experience in content area, and three years of experience in child day care preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge of NYS child care program regulations preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated computer, database, and data report skills.
Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as team member.
Experience working with federal or state regulated programs preferred.
Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.
50 - $19.
50 per hour
