Peaceful Schools is seeking experienced and enthusiastic seasonal part-time After School Program Instructors to apply their experience and expertise in specific academic, cultural, and social justice content to support the positive youth development of students K-8 who participate in the after-school program.
These educators build community and promote social competence by integrating Peaceful People Social Skills Curriculum and other enriching content.
The after-school program runs Monday-Thursday from October-May.
Instructors should expect to work with one elementary and one middle school class daily.

Positions are based at HW Smith in Syracuse, NY.
*Duties & Responsibilities:*
* Work collaboratively with Peaceful Schools enrichment team.
* Support the creation and management of the peaceful classroom climate and a safe learning environment.
* Develop and implement engaging, interactive, and hands-on lesson plans using assigned templates.
* Plan for needed supplies and follow company policies to request and receive them.
* Maintain accurate student attendance/discipline records.
* Actively participate in professional development and training, as well as in select school-based trainings and meetings if applicable.
* Actively participate in Peaceful Schools staff trainings and meetings as assigned.
* Reflect the mission and vision of Peaceful Schools.
* Display strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude, and problem-solving skills in line with the Peaceful Schools Core Values.
* Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems.
* Follow all company and SCSD building policies, procedures, and protocols.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications:*
* Experience working in a K-12 setting preferred.
* Knowledge and experience planning and conducting educational lessons/activities for youth.
* Computer and social media literate including basics in Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
*Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:*
* Part-Time Temporary/Seasonal non-exempt position.
Position ends on the last day of After School Program, on or about May 16th, depending on snow days.
* Typical schedule is Monday through Thursday, 1:30 p.
m.
to 3 p.
m.
* Attend professional development and full after-school staff meetings in SCSD building as necessary and/or assigned.
* Attend Peaceful Schools meetings and/or trainings as assigned.
* Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
